Office Policies

Confidentiality: Counseling sessions are confidential between therapist and client. There are exceptions to confidentiality which, by law, I must adhere to. The circumstances under which I would discuss the content of our sessions include: if you have given me explicit written permission to do so, or, if I have reason to believe that you are in danger of harming yourself, someone else, or if there is child, elder, or dependent adult abuse.

Frequency of Sessions:  I only work with clients who are able to commit to meeting on a weekly basis. The work I do is in-depth and I have found that my clients benefit most from the structured consistency of weekly meetings which allow us to build a foundation of understanding for the issues at hand and address them in an expeditious manner. If your situation does not allow for weekly meetings, I may not be the best fit for therapeutic work with you.

Cancellation:  Session appointment times are reserved for each client and dedicated to that individual alone. Therefore, my cancelation policy requires 24 hours notice  (by email or phone) if you are not going to be able to make a scheduled session. If 24 hours notice is not given, I charge a late cancellation fee of $100. This amount is not reimbursable by insurance companies, therefore the client is required to pay the amount in full.
